What competitors say nothing

This niche is full of promises. Here is the truth about 2026 — before you buy your ticket.

🇦🇷 Argentina: Decree 366/2025 changed the rules for parents

The child still receives citizenship. But parents no longer receive permanent residence automatically — now require 2 years of legal residence, proof of income and a clean criminal record. Anyone promising you a ’passport to parents within a year’ — leaves something out. If you want permanent residency for the whole family right away, look at Brazil or Uruguay.

🇲🇽 Mexico: visibly pregnant tourists are turned away at the airport

Especially in Cancún. Flying in as a ’birth tourist’ risks losing your tickets and your nerves at the border. The only legal route is residency status before the trip. We arrange it in advance — yes, it takes longer, but there are no surprises.

🇺🇸 USA: we no longer organise birth trips

Birthright citizenship has held — the Supreme Court confirmed it on 30 June 2026. But on 6 August a decree was signed directing that birth tourism be stopped and explicitly authorising action against companies offering such trips. We have stepped back from that and in the US do only what is legal: we handle the documents for a child who has already been born — $1,500 for the full package.

🇨🇱 Chile: citizenship for the child is not automatic

Only if the parents hold legal resident status at the time of birth. Flying in and giving birth on the spot won’t work — the route is planned months in advance. We give you honest timelines from the start.

Therapist for pregnant women and new mothers living abroad
08 · Support for the mother

A therapist — before and after the birth

Giving birth in another country is about more than paperwork and clinics. The fear of labour, an unfamiliar language in the ward, no family nearby — and then the sleepless weeks that follow and the feeling that you can’t cope. You don’t have to go through this alone: SVOY has therapists who work with pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Online from any country, at a time that suits you.

What you share in a session is seen only by your therapist.

Psychological support throughout pregnancy

4 online sessions for calm, confident birth preparation. Led by Inna Salnikova — neurotherapist, body and dance movement therapist, Master’s in Medicine from Vilnius University, 7+ years of practice. The programme grew out of her research at a Vilnius maternity hospital.

  1. Fears, anxiety and triggers
  2. Beliefs and family patterns around pregnancy and childbirth
  3. Body: releasing tension, learning to regulate your state
  4. Preparing for birth and the first weeks with your newborn

This is not a conversation with a psychologist: the work happens through physical sensations, body-based practices, drawing and exercises. Online from any country, you can start at any stage — even a month before the birth.

This is psycho-emotional support. It does not replace medical supervision — it complements it.

09 · FAQ

Common questions

In which countries does a child receive citizenship immediately at birth?
Birthright citizenship (jus soli) is granted by the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Panama, and a number of other countries in the Americas. In Chile, it applies only if the parents hold legal resident status at the time of birth. In Europe, pure jus soli does not exist.
What do parents receive if their child is born abroad?
Depends on the country. Brazil: permanent residence for parents (and the baby’s siblings), citizenship after 1 year of residence. Uruguay: permanent residence immediately, citizenship after 3 years. Mexico: permanent residence through the child. Argentina: after Decree 366/2025 — the standard naturalization track (2 years of legal residence). USA: parents receive no status, but the child is a citizen and can sponsor family members from age 21.
How much do childbirth abroad cost in 2026?
Calculate across three levels — we always quote them separately. 1) SVOY Baby support — from $3,500 in Brazil, from $5,000 in Argentina and Latin America, from $6,900 in Mexico. 2) Clinic — you pay the hospital directly at its own rates, with no markup from us: $2,400–3,150 in Brazil, $2,500–5,000 in Argentina, $3,500–3,900 in Mexico, $2,000–6,000 in Uruguay, Chile, and Panama. 3) Full trip budget for 4 months — support, clinic, fees, housing, flights, and daily living: Brazil $15,000–23,000, Argentina $9,000–15,000, Mexico $13,000–22,000, Uruguay, Chile, and Panama $9,000–16,000. The US is not included: we do not organise trips there for childbirth. The calculator on this page will show you an exact estimate; we’ll go through it in detail during a consultation.
Is it even legal to travel abroad to give birth?
Yes. Giving birth abroad is legal when you enter honestly and pay for medical services. We work exclusively with legal routes: no grey-area border schemes, only the correct visa or residency status, honest declarations, and paid invoices.
How do you choose a country for childbirth?
Three questions: what do you need (a passport for your child? status for the parents? level of medical care?), what is your budget, and what is your timeline. Our comparison table covers 8 countries across these criteria — and at the consultation we match the country to your situation, because we work with all destinations at once and have no reason to sell you any single one.
Is it true that Argentina has ’closed’ to birth tourism?
It has not closed, but the rules have changed. A child still receives Argentine citizenship by birth. However, following Decree 366/2025, parents no longer receive permanent residence automatically — it is now a standard track: 2 years of legal residence, confirmed income and a clean criminal record. We share this clearly before the trip, not after.
Can you fly to Mexico to give birth as a tourist?
We do not recommend it: pregnant women without status are turned away at airports, especially Cancún. The right approach is to obtain residency status before travelling. It takes longer, but it is safe and legal — and we support the entire process.
Why is paying SVOY Baby safe?
Three reasons. A contract with a legal entity — not a card transfer. Payment in stages of 20/30/30/20: booking → arrival → birth → documents in hand; you never pay everything upfront. You pay service providers (clinic, doctor, doula) directly at their published rates — we charge no hidden markups.
How far along is best to fly?
The comfortable travel window is 24–32 weeks: already relaxed, still permitted by airlines (most allow travel up to week 36 with a medical certificate). It is best to arrive in the country of birth 6–10 weeks before your due date — enough time to register with a doctor, complete tests and settle in. An individual plan is discussed during the consultation.
I do not speak the local language. How do I manage at the clinic?
This is our job. You have a personal coordinator with you, a doula-interpreter at the birth, and we select English- or locally-speaking doctors. We handle and translate all of your baby’s documents. The language barrier is the first thing we remove.
Shall we begin?
